We are absolutely allowed—and even called—to pray for the dead, including our enemies. Whether it's Masons, Satanists, Muslims, or even men like Ozzy Osbourne, every soul was made in the image and likeness of God.
The Church teaches us to evangelize all nations, and one of the greatest spiritual acts of mercy is to pray for the conversion of sinners—both living and deceased.
Ozzy lived a scandalous and complicated life. Yes, many of his actions bore bad fruit, and there’s little public evidence of repentance. But Christ warns us not to judge the eternal fate of any soul, for only God sees the heart, especially in one’s final moments.
Remember, Jesus said there is only one unforgivable sin—blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Mark 3:29). That means if Ozzy had even a moment of perfect contrition before death, God's mercy could reach him. So no, Catholics are not forbidden from praying for him. We do not glorify his sins—but we entrust his soul to God, because hope and intercession are Christian duties.
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:44–45)
