This is btw also what to me personally "Internet Capital Markets" actually means. It's not a singular app, or some shady web2 business launching a memecoin.
Enabled by cryptographic tokens acting as a digital, equity-like fundraising instrument, (internet-native) business models are tokenized, efficiently enabling them to bootstrap operations, while allowing for broad participation in their upside (revenue), and acting as a tool to accelerate adoption of the underlying technology.
While launchpads like @KaitoAI provide cutomized initial distribution models, scalable, decentralized DEX infra in the form of verifiable/onchain CLOBs for high liquidity assets, and AMMs for the long tail of assets, enables efficient secondary markets.
Additional DeFi infra around it (perps, lending markets, yield farming protocols, etc), adds further utility and depth, completing what is holistically speaking a full, internet-native financial markets system.
As the "real world" increasingly moves onchain, and given the maturing, increasingly scalable and efficient infrastructure to support the above, this digital approach to fundraising is likely to extend beyond "internet-native" businesses rapidly.
Ultimately (assuming maturing regulatory frameworks) it will result in equities and all sorts of other RWAs / TradFi assets being tokenized, and legacy infra for both primary & secondary markets being reshaped by distributed ledger tech. Stablecoins provide early validation here.
