OpenAI said to reopen $40B round on Mon. as it seeks more capital from investors
•Mar.: the $40B round boosted OpenAI’s valuation to up to $300B.
•SoftBank led the round and committed to contributing XX% of the total round.
•SoftBank’s commitment could be slashed to $10B if OpenAI doesn’t restructure by 2025-end.
•OpenAI and SoftBank were also reportedly at odds over the Stargate project.
•The project is “no longer a vision — it’s happening,” the two companies said in a joint statement.
