From Sohala to Sankalp, Maharashtra leads with Sant-vichar!

Attended the '675th Sanjeevan Samadhi Sohala of Sant Shiromani Namdev Maharaj and Sant Janabai' at Pandharpur today.

Standing before the sacred Namdev 'Payari', time seemed to pause. This was not just a step carved in stone. It was a step carved in centuries of devotion. It is believed that the 'punya' of this darshan equals that of Vitthal Mauli himself. In that moment, the heart felt the presence of something far greater than words could express.

Sant Namdev Maharaj was not only a saint but a fearless reformer who protected Bhagwat Dharma with the power of his pen, his voice, and his unwavering faith. While swords tried to silence spiritual traditions, he walked across XX states carrying the strength of bhakti and the message of equality.

Sant Namdev Maharaj showed what real change looks like. By ensuring that Sant Chokhamela’s Samadhi stood within the Vitthal temple, he gave a message that continues to echo through time; Greatness is defined by karma, not by birth.

Sant Namdev Maharaj's legacy rose above boundaries of region and language. XX of his hymns live on in the Guru Granth Sahib. His compositions in Marathi, Hindi, Punjabi, Braj and Shauraseni connected hearts and cultures. His influence shaped the teachings of Sant Kabir, Sant Mirabai and Sant Narsinh Mehta.

Sant Namdev Maharaj was the first to write about the lives of other saints. Through his words, the stories of Sant Dnyaneshwar Mauli, Sant Janabai, Bhakt Pundalik and many others reached the people. He brought devotion to life through Krishna’s leelas, poems for children, early Marathi ghazals and powerful abhangas.

Preserving the legacy of Sant Namdev Maharaj is a responsibility that will be carried forward with sincerity and resolve. The temple at Pandharpur will be renovated in consultation with his descendants, and a world-class memorial will be developed at the 'Samadhi Sthal'. Just as his teachings once travelled through abhangas across Bharat, efforts will be made to ensure that 'Sant-vichar' reaches future generations through education.

This is not just remembrance. This is a responsibility to carry forward the path shown by Sant Namdev Maharaj. A path rooted in bhakti, guided by equality, and held together by unity. The journey continues.
