Elon Musk says Neuralink is on track to change millions of lives after completing its latest brain-chip implant procedures.
The company has now implanted its BCI device in nine patients, with a goal of reaching XX surgeries by the end of 2025.
Musk celebrated the milestone on X, saying Neuralink will do "life(live)-changing good" for billions. He pointed to possible breakthroughs like helping paralyzed individuals walk again or allowing people with dementia to recognize loved ones.
Neuralink recently completed two surgeries in a single day for the first time, marking a major operational milestone. Co-founder DJ Seo confirmed the company’s aim to expand testing before the year ends.
Backed by over $XXX million in funding and valued at more than $X billion, Neuralink is drawing support from big names like Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest. The company is also planning to trial its vision-restoring Blindsight implant in the UAE by 2026.
Still, the road isn’t without criticism. Musk’s earlier claims that Neuralink could help restore hearing have drawn pushback from members of the deaf community.
Despite controversy, Neuralink continues pushing forward with its brain-computer interface tech, eyeing a future where neurological conditions may be treatable with a chip.
