Let’s be honest: Zelenskyy has always leaned pro-Russian. Before entering politics, he said in interviews that he didn’t want the Ukrainian language to exist in Ukraine. He said Ukraine and Russia should be “one people,” urged the U.S. to stop helping Ukraine and to stop “creating conflict” between Ukraine and Russia, called Ukraine a “prostitute” that sold itself to the West, and only invited Russian artists close to Putin to perform on his shows. He also mocked the victims of the Maidan.
In 2014, Zelenskyy’s wife publicly posted a call for Ukrainians in Donbas to report the positions of Ukrainian troops to Russia. Both Zelenskyys were added to the "Myrotvorets" database of pro-Russian agents.
When Zelenskyy became president, he tried to hand over Donbas to Russia — including territories not yet occupied, demilitarize Ukraine. The military refused to carry out this order, leading to a major conflict with the Azov Regiment (you can watch the video). Ukrainians then took to the streets in mass protests. Zelenskyy backed off the plan to give away Donbas — but instead, he started politically persecuting Azov veterans.
After Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, Zelenskyy said he had “changed” and asked forgiveness for who he used to be. And I truly believed that. But today, I’m beginning to doubt…
Because his actions now serve the interests of only one country — and it’s Russia.
It’s not the fault of Ukrainians that they’re angry with Zelenskyy, and it’s not their criticism that makes the West hesitant to help. Let’s be clear: it’s Zelenskyy himself who sabotages Ukraine’s path to the EU and destroys XX years of anti-corruption reforms. He spits in the face of the Maidan heroes.
And the reason seems obvious — fear of exposing his own corruption.
His personal enrichment through illegal means matters more to him than EU membership or victory over Russia.
Fine, steal as much as you want — just let us destroy the rest of the corruption. Let us defeat Russia. Let us join the EU and NATO.
Strike a deal if you have to: no one touches you personally, but the rest of the system gets cleaned out completely. Something. Anything. Just stop dragging the entire country down with you.
