And no, it’s not because he wouldn’t pass, it’s because the Lakers had basically NOBODY who would make you pay outside on a consistent basis. Fisher was our hallmark outside threat and he stunk it up with awful shooting in a bunch of series thru all the title runs

Lakers were 19th in 3pt% in 2009 and 23rd in 2010. Teams would live with an open look for DFish or Odom rather than give Kobe light of day. Another reason face value efficiency is stupid. Everyone was better with Kobe on the court because he created open looks just by being there, with or without the ball

For reference, Cavs were 2nd in 3pt% in both 2009 and 2010
