We’re stuck in this “arms-wrapped-around-a-married-woman-at-a-Coldplay-concert” complicated kind of weather pattern: simple in theory, complicated in execution. 😅 - thank you for your Emmy nomination consideration. 😂😜
Anyhoodles, we’ve entered a monsoon-influenced rhythm where we get scattered, hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms each day. But here’s the kicker: no two days are exactly alike.
☔ This morning, a batch of rain and a couple of storms is marching through eastern Utah and western Colorado. Great news for humidity and possibly helping firefighters out there. Even if it's temporary.
🌩️ By X PM today, more storms will pop along and east of the Continental Divide, reaching the foothills & I-25 corridor soon after and the eastern Plains after 4–5 PM.
📌 A few strong to severe storms are possible this evening into the overnight hours, especially across eastern Colorado, western Nebrasky, and Kansas.
Why?
Because of a thing called the low-level jet: that sneaky overnight wind current that kicks in after sunset due to the Front Range cooling faster than the Plains. This can ignite explosive thunderstorm development, including:
• 🌪️ Rotating storms • 🧊 Large hail • 🌬️ Damaging winds • And possibly a tornado or two
🎯 The greatest risk will be after X PM and east of a line from Scottsbluff to Sterling to Limon to La Junta.
Tuesday outlook:
⛰️ Scattered storms develop in the mountains by X PM, reach the I-25 corridor by X PM, and then roll onto the Plains.
Expect:
• ⚡ Frequent lightning • 🌧️ Heavy rain • 🧊 A few storms with marginally large hail or strong winds
We’re in a fun-but-chaotic summer pattern, just like Colorado used to be back in the day. You natives remember. Fire risk is lower, rain chances are solid, and the vibes are… unpredictable.
