APU / HyperLiquid "July 18th - July 20th" Update
Previous Update:
Current Update:
There is a clear internal structure: one person overseeing the bridge project, and the developers working to fulfill his vision.
The wallet that holds the APU ticker on Hyperliquid will need to take actions during the final steps. There is an option to either walk the wallet holder through the process live or share access with a trusted person for one-time use. This is considered low-risk because the system becomes immutable after deployment.
The team has decided that the developer should take these actions. The wallet holder has shared the necessary access with the developer securely. Once deployment is complete, this wallet will likely be retired.
An older solution with another bridging provider has been fully set aside due to lack of reliability and ongoing delays. All focus is now on completing the LayerZero integration.
A market maker has been confirmed. Flowdesk will support APU on Hyperliquid, and the team will proceed with funding liquidity requirements as soon as needed.
After thorough discussion, the team decided to proceed without implementing a supply cap guardrail on the bridge. The risk of exceeding the maximum bridgeable supply on Hyperliquid is considered extremely low, and any issues would be the responsibility of users bridging in.
A developer with prior experience on similar LayerZero bridges is leading the technical build. The developer now fully understands the testnet Core/spot configuration. Once complete, this setup will be duplicated on mainnet with LayerZero's support at each step.
LayerZero engineers confirmed that Hyperliquid Core has a maximum balance capacity of XXX billion tokens, which aligns with the team's plan. The scaling factor between EVM and Core ensures safe bridging even in edge cases.
Final confirmations from the LayerZero team suggest that the current design avoids risk of tokens being stuck.
Next Steps:
โ Finish Testnet Core/Spot Setup: Finalize and verify the connection between the EVM bridge and Hyperliquid Core on testnet.
๐ Mainnet Deployment: Duplicate the full setup on mainnet, including the OFT adapter, Core connection, and spot trading config.
๐ LayerZero Review & Support: Coordinate with LayerZero team to review each step of the mainnet deployment and confirm proper configuration.
๐ฐ Liquidity Funding: Begin funding market maker (Flowdesk) with required liquidity to support spot trading once live.
๐งช Live Testing: Perform live test transactions on mainnet to ensure bridge-in and bridge-out work as expected across Ethereum, HyperEVM, and Core.
๐ Enable Spot Trading: Activate the APU spot market on Hyperliquid once deployment is verified and liquidity is in place.
๐ข Community Announcement: Announce APU spot trading on Hyperliquid once fully live and functional. No announcements until that milestone is reached.
