Individualism in car design disappeared when X. the 70s oil crisis made fuel efficiency and aerodynamics more important and X. resale value became more important.
But electric cars have ~zero resale value anyway because of battery degradation and electricity is much cheaper $/mile than gas.
There's room for individualistic car design to come back.
