The #CoinDCX breach hits different:
– $44.2M drained
– Tornado-funded attacker
– Solana → Ethereum bridge
– XX hours of silence
– Hot wallet untagged
– Not in Proof-of-Reserves
Three key wallet addresses linked to the CoinDCX exploit
🔻 Ethereum: 0xEF0c5b9E0E9643937D75C229648158584A8CD8D2
🔻 Solana: 6peRRbTz28xofaJPJzEkxnpcpR5xhYsQcmJHQFdP22n 3btch8cSVp3Uh2SiY9DeiRNYUBmFiBNHZQzDyecJs7Gu
Bridging, swapping, and distribution started within minutes of initial funding.
The attacker knew exactly what they were doing.
CEXs need to do better i think.
Things getting worse nowadays!
The exploit occurred XX hours before it was disclosed publicly. CoinDCX didn’t immediately issue a statement or alert users, despite the breach being visible on-chain.
The community found out through on-chain sleuths like Cyvers and not through the exchange itself.
That’s a huge communication gap, especially for a centralized exchange that handles user trust and money.
Even though they later clarified that no customer funds were affected, the delay hurt credibility.
In volatile crypto markets, speed of communication is essential to avoid panic, misinformation, or legal risk.
