Not wrong about broadcast. However, streaming is killing prime time faster than late night.

Colbert’s production budget for XXX episodes annually is $XXX million. His ratings numbers average XXXXXXX less per episode than #4 NCIS in primetime. Primetime ad rates are higher than late night, however, a XX episode season at $12-$15 million an episode.

Streaming content of Colbert‘s monologues and guests is earning money off the network in REAL time — probably equal to ad sales. Prime time scripted shows don’t do that.

If you can’t sell a number one show and it’s timeslot that’s on your fucking ad sales.

What are you gonna replace it with? A lower rated show. They still have to sell that ad time. They lose the cache. They lose the daily eyes & publicity Colbert brings to the network

If the WGA sues I guess we’ll find out the facts but they already caved once for 16m so this looks like the same cowardice & damages their brand.
