🟡 Hezbollah’s Naim Qassem: We Will Not Disarm, We Are Ready to Confront
“We will not surrender or give up” Hezbollah leader Sheikh Naim Qassem said Friday that the group will not disarm under any circumstances, even as U.S. officials force Lebanon to adopt a timeline.
➤“We will not give up our faith or our strength. We are ready to confront the enemy. There will be no surrender or capitulation to Israel, and Israel will not get our weapons.”
“We know that confrontation will be very costly, but submission would leave us with nothing.”
▪️ “Lebanon faces three real threats” Qassem said Hezbollah’s arms are essential until three threats are addressed:
➤“Israel in the south, groups affiliated with Da’esh in the east, and American hegemony that seeks to control the country, place it under guardianship and prevent it from living freely.”
➤ Hezbollah, he said, is open to discussing a national defense strategy—but only after those threats are resolved.
▪️ “The resistance prevented Israel from reaching Beirut”
Reflecting on last year’s war, Qassem claimed: “The resistance prevented Israel from reaching Beirut.”
“The main mission of this resistance remains liberation, the protection of Lebanon against occupation, the fight against Israeli colonization, and the defense of Lebanon’s right to its sovereign future.”
▪️He said Hezbollah “fully respected the ceasefire” and blamed Israel for “eight months of continuous aggression” since the November truce.
“Today, the United States is proposing a new agreement as if the last eight months of violations had never happened.”
“The true objective of this aggression is the disarmament of Hezbollah — a purely Israeli demand.”
➤ “Lebanon is our definitive homeland”
Qassem warned that Israeli expansionism would go unchecked if the resistance disarmed:
“The Israeli army would expand in Lebanon if there was no resistance in the country.”
“The weapon of the resistance is what has allowed Lebanon to stand up and prevented the expansion of Israel.”
“We are all committed to the Taif Agreement and its provisions.”
“It is the very existence of the resistance, its environment, and Lebanon in all its components that is threatened.”

“Do not count on an inter-Shiite conflict. Hezbollah and the Amal movement form a strategic alliance.”
