The United States Dollar will now be powered by Chainlink.
Since the Genius Act bill has been passed, a few key points are coming to fruition.
*Banking is in for a major technological upgrade *Stablecoins are the key stratagem to keeping the USD the reserve currency of the world *All issued stables are backed by real world assets
Chainlink meets all three major points made by Trump today at the press conference.
X. Chainlink Runtime Environment replaces legacy Cobol and Java systems that run the majority of the current global economy. This is already being used by Westpac's Project Acacia, SWIFT and many others.
X. US treasury operations benefit from stablecoin issuers. They are rapidly becoming the largest purchasers of short term low interest treasury notes. In order to Issue new stables on the blockchain, they must meet the third point.
X. Proof of reserves. Without proof of collateralization in the real world, stablecoins would otherwise hold no value. We have seen how Algorithmic stablecoins have failed such as Terra Luna. Nothing will ever beat true collateral for issued tokens on-chain. It doesn't matter if it is a stock or a stable, it must represent something tangible in the real world. Chainlink enables issuers to prove such things with verifiable data.
Chainlink now has unlocked its largest TAM (total addressable market) and business model since the law has been updated at the federal level. These services are not for free, and the global economy will save immensely from their technology. Project Acacia is estimating that XX billion AUD will be saved yearly through adoption of these services, even with Chainlink's usage fees in place.
At the end of the day, as the legacy financial system is modernized, stablecoins will begin to update the United States Dollar. Through institutional and government adoption, Chainlink will be the core piece of technology that powers this new modern dollar. This realization will set in for many very soon.
