XRP has always been in the mcap top 10, and since it's a coin which has no utility (unlike, say ETH as the world computer or LINK as the ultimate oracle), it was easy to spin XRP as the next bitcoin and also the next super-duper banking coin without bothering with explanations because there is no utility
