If you're wondering how things like this happen, Michigan is full of Asian companies supplying the auto industry.
In the early 2000s, Michigan got hit with the Emerald Ash Borer which has killed tens of millions of ash trees just in out state alone. It was first identified in Canton, Michigan, home to numerous Asian tier X suppliers to the Big Three auto companies.
It has since spread across the country and caused an incalculable amount of damage both economically and aesthetically.
I remember it vividly because my parent's house used to be surrounded by ash trees and by the time I was in high school they were all dead or dying, with no chance to save them.
This is why re-shoring manufacturing to America is not just a desire, it's a necessity. When our IP isn't being ripped off, we're being invaded by foreign parasites picking at the soft underbelly of the country.
