Massacre in Gopalganj: Brutality, Cover-ups, and Public Outrage
On July 16, a brutal crackdown in Gopalganj following a rally by the unregistered Kings Party backed by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has triggered national outrage. Many are calling it a planned massacre, aimed at prolonging the tenure of an unelected regime.
Despite the NCP announcing countrywide protests, only Gopalganj was targeted, raising questions about political motives, especially given its symbolic link to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s tomb.
