As part of ongoing improvements to the staking system. @Polkadot is implementing a small but important run time change.
As a result:
Staking ledgers are being migrated from legacy locks to holds.
Here's how it affects users:
- In the past your staked funds appeared under the frozen portion of your system account.
After this change they will appear under the reserved section instead.
So only the way it is displayed changes. No big deal.
- In the past, you could stake your entire balance down to zero. After this change you will need to keep the existential deposit, which is X $DOT in your free balance.
This ensures your account stays alive.
If you are currently staking your full account balance, your $DOT staked will now by X to account for this.
You don't need to do anything, the process will be seamless, with no disruption to your staking activity.
