Hot take:
Whether we like to say it out loud or not, everyone on CT is ‘extracting’ something.
That could be attention, information, money-making tips, recognition for quality content or work, or even just looking for a job.
Unfortunately, many go straight for maximum liquidity extraction.
To me, those are the ones who are XXX % toxic for the space. At the same time, many people make mistakes by trying to build something that goes south quickly. Most deserve second chances. If you have never tried to build anything, it is hard to understand this. You might fail XXX times before getting something right.
The full extractors do not. They deserve a criminal record, if there is hard evidence.
What we give back is crucial for this space to thrive and evolve.
Ultimately, it is up to each person to make an effort to understand who the full extractors are and who is actually giving something back. Then pick a side.
