🚢 Syndicate Chain & Adrift: A New Era of Community-Owned Infrastructure
The internet started as a shared, open space built by communities for communities. But over time, platforms centralized power and extracted value. Syndicate Chain is building a new foundation: one where communities own their networks, govern their infrastructure, and program how value flows.
After X years of development, @syndicateio has launched a base layer designed to horizontally scale Ethereum with appchains, which are custom, application-specific blockchains.
These appchains can:
= Be built using frameworks like Arbitrum Orbit or OP Stack. = Settle to any EVM-compatible chain (Ethereum L1, Base, etc.). = Customize gas, staking tokens, governance, and fees. = Atomically compose and shard across appchains = Use Syndicate Chain for onchain sequencing and coordination.
Meet Adrift: The First Gaming Appchain
Adrift testnet is the first live example, a fully onchain survival game running on its own appchain.
- Each day, players check in to survive at sea, Miss a day you’re out.

- Randomness is generated directly onchain
- Game logic is enforced by the sequencer
- No central server and no way to cheat
- All outcomes are tamper-proof and final
What’s Next?
Adrift’s testnet registration closed on July 10, but it is just the beginning. I did not get in, if syndicate will do something🤔.
