Think of it like the evolution in schools argument.
Progressives simply stated that evolution was the correct and educated answer and all other positions suggesting God were uneducated nonsense.
No debate. No discussion. Just close the door on the backwards Christian extremists standing in the way of progress.
They see all topics the same way. They are simply correct. They don't see any of it as activism or political or biased. It's just true and you either accept truth or you fight progress.
They think they own education, science and fact.
