(9/10) đź’° Value and Flexibility:

Norman Powell (2025): • XXXX PPG • XXX RPG • XXX APG • XXXX FG% • XXXX 3P% • XXXX FT%

John Collins (2025): • XXXX PPG • XXX RPG • XXX APG • XXXX FG% • XXXX 3P% • XXXX FT%

Bradley Beal (2025): • XXXX PPG • XXX RPG • XXX APG • XXXX FG% • XXXX 3P% • XXXX FT%

The Clippers turned one expiring scorer into two short-term players who outperform Powell in areas that actually apply to the playoffs: rebounding, versatility, and shot creation under pressure.

Even past the numbers, Powell’s archetype is losing value. He’s a 6’3” scoring guard who doesn’t defend, doesn’t rebound, and doesn’t pass. The league is moving away from paying that player $20M+, let alone extending him for $25M. They got a version of him on the roster now only making $5M.

Just this offseason: • Malik Monk (younger, better passer) is making $18M and reportedly has no trade market. • Cam Thomas and Quentin Grimes are struggling to secure deals near that number, despite being younger and having room for growth.

These deals also mean that the Clippers retain: • Cap space in 2026 • A completely clean sheet in 2027 outside of Zubac’s bargain deal… just in time for a potential superstar free-agent class (Luka, Jokic, Giannis, Curry, etc.)
