Karnataka govt plans to introduce "Rohit Vemula Bill" - this law seems more draconian than SC/ST act!
Bill aims to "protect" SC/ST/OBC/Minorities in all govt/private universities.
🔹 Only these groups are protected 🔹 Accused can face non-bailable, cognisable FIRs 🔹 Up to X year jail + ₹10k fine (1st offence), X years + ₹1L fine (repeat) 🔹 Bystanders can be jailed for not “stopping” it 🔹 ₹1 lakh compensation can be ordered - even before conviction
