What is your Foundational Story (i.e. the most important story in regard to forming your worldview and morality)?
For me it is The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
I am currently re-reading it in order to reinvigorate myself and to remind myself that Sauron is defeated in the end – even though things look dark at times.
I encourage you to meditate upon the following beautiful passage:
“All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.”
Highly inspiring. This is just what I need to set a high pace come autumn!
