⚡️⭕️ On July 12, 2006, Hezbollah launched Operation Truthful Promise by ambushing an Israeli patrol on the Lebanon-Palestine border, capturing two soldiers and killing others.
The operation aimed to secure the release of long-held Lebanese prisoners like Samir Kuntar. Intense clashes and Israeli retaliation ensued, with Hezbollah fighters inflicting heavy losses, destroying a Merkava tank, and fighting deep into Israeli lines. The sucessful operation eventually led to a prisoner exchange in 2008, marking a major political and symbolic victory for Hezbollah.
