🌺 A rare stinker is blooming in San Francisco — and it's not for the faint of nose

At the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco, one of the world’s rarest — and smelliest — plants is now in full bloom: the Titan Arum, also known as the corpse flower. Affectionately nicknamed “Chanel,” it smells less like perfume and more like a sun-rotted dumpster. Or decaying flesh. Depends who you ask.

Native to the island of Sumatra, this botanical beast only blooms once every few years — and each bloom lasts just two days. This particular plant took XX years to bloom for the first time. The next show won't be for another X to X years.

Today is the final chance to see and smell “Chanel” in full form. Yesterday, crowds lined up as soon as the doors opened to catch a whiff of nature’s most exotic (and revolting) perfume.
