"I agree on a higher level. "Experts" coining new terms all the time to make money. I've seen this happen 100s of times. "Inbound marketing" "Content marketing" "skyscraper technique" "EEAT optimization" "product-led SEO" etc. etc. Sometimes new terms need to emerge but not as a result of someone trying to cheat clueless businesses into wasting money. But I really don't think G2 deserves to be in this context. This is a valid project that adds value to the web (and unless I am missing anything it didn't emerge from a new buzz-term hysteria) What I don't agree with is the narrative (not exactly" @seosmarty on X 2025-07-17 02:02:46 UTC 62.9K followers, XX engagements
"Hubspot made its name on a new buzz-term that introduced nothing new. "Inbound/content marketing" meant / mean nothing new but it was branded / packaged into a new way of thinking. Do I have problem with it Yes. Just like with all those terms I listed. It was not a new framework nor a new way of doing anything. It was just a buzz that misled lots of businesses into thinking they needed to invest money into something that didn't exist. I don't think G2's story can be compared to that. Yes the business model was SEO-driven but it didn't invent new flashy terms to exist or flourish" @seosmarty on X 2025-07-17 02:14:50 UTC 62.9K followers, XX engagements

"0-click buying is around the corner the rumor has it: OpenAI and Shopify said to be closing an agreement: Consumers will be able to buy products right inside a ChatGPT chat When ChatGPT announced product feed support coming soon I predicted something like this would be coming soon Expect buying inside ChatGPT (0-click-buying) around the corner. And that trend will be going stronger and stronger. I said that before for quite some time now: We are approaching 0-click product discovery 0-click product research and 0-click conversions Are we ready 😱" @seosmarty on X 2025-07-18 14:51:47 UTC 62.9K followers, XXX engagements
"I thought so but wasnt sure The bottom line: I know and trust you have expertise Whether it is necessarily the specific expertise I talked about initially probably not for all the objective reasons I listed (not enough time different approaches etc.) I wasnt trying to single out anyone specifically (if anything I was talking about my own expertise or more so the absence of it)" @seosmarty on X 2025-07-16 21:31:32 UTC 62.9K followers, XX engagements
