"A little pre-research (just in case) on Coastal Carolina Football which is being mentioned as a possible destination for Ryan Beard . Member of the Sun Belt Conference. Fired coach Tim Beck last month after he went 20-18 in three seasons and took the Chanticleers to three bowl games. They are 6-6 this year. Coastal Carolina plays La Tech of CUSA in the Independence Bowl later this month. Beck made $XXXXX million this season. Their stadium built in 2003 holds 21000 at capacity"

This seems like quite a lateral move for Bears except for the salary . and if the MSU administration couldn't match what Coastal Carolina offered in terms of pay then that's a failure on the university's part. "One nugget about Coastal Carolina I neglected to mention . the Chanticleers averaged 18352 fans for that 6-6 season in their 21000 seat stadium this year . in a year in which they fired their coach. Clearly the folks in and around Conway SC love their football and will turn out to watch it even when it's not up to their standards. The Bears averaged 11547 for their six home games in their 17500 seat stadium for a season that far exceeded expectations. Couple that interest with a $X million-plus annual salary and the videos below on facilities - including a brand new indoor training center -"

"It's the current college football world we live in unfortunately. We all would better our job situation for ourselves and our families if given the chance. Ryan Beard got the chance. Faster than expected and clearly faster than any of us wanted. And to think now that we were all pushing for the Bears to win X or X games in this first FBS season when if they hadn't pulled out a couple of those late road wins and had finished 5-7 instead Beard would likely still be the Mo State coach . and they might have still gone to a bowl game.😀"
