"For anyone watching trading or investing in silver read my following summary. One of the limitations of the current system of silver is the tightness that develops in the securities lending side. Less shares available can create conditions for short covering which then loops the cycle for dealers to hedge short calls and buy the underlying which is SLV. In this case the shares are created by delivering silver thus tightening the float (freely available silver) in London which impacts lease rates and carrying costs.
