"My predictions for AI in 2025: 1) Tokenization will finally be dead. 2) Test-time compute moves to latent space with abstract concepts not text. This will enable multi-modal reasoning. 3) Combination of new techniques like the above will signal the end of classical LLM. The successors will be omni-modal and can be seen as proto-AGI. 4) Compute will be the limiting factor. This also means powerful models will become expensive at inference time. 5) At least one lab (OpenAI) will declare AGI. There will be endless dispute about it. Please comment.
