I nearly missed twice I was supposed to be at the Gilroy Garlic Festival and then left Trader Joe's minutes before that mass shooting. I lost a neighbor in the Vegas mass shooting. So I have decided not to push my luck. It's obviously worse if it's a Jewish public event. My friends who do go go armed. One of the reasons I look forward to visiting Israel - hopefully 2026 is that I will feel safer going out to public events especially Jewish ones"
