"What a day It started bright and early with my second and full dose of Carfilzamib which seemed to take forever from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Right after that I headed to the airport to catch a flight to Cape Town mask on and all. The adventure began with a hiccup when the plane from Porto to Lisbon had a flat tire causing a one-hour delay. Once we finally landed in Lisbon the @emirates flight was also delayed by an hour. "Health Update I had my cancer treatment session at IPO Porto hospital yesterday which lasted from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PMa very long day with extra medications. But Im thrilled to report that the Carfilzomib is working. "Received surprising news during my Monday meeting with my haematologist. Back pain similar to my [----] diagnosis returned and blood tests showed elevated calcium haemoglobin at [---] and platelets at 12K. Treatment has been paused and I received a platelet transfusion & meds. Tomorrow's MRI will give more insight. "Oscar began a new treatment yesterday with Teclistamab (and other meds) a stomach injection with a reduced first dose. This afternoon he developed shivers shakes and a 39C feverexpected side effects for some. Thankfully hes in hospital this week so doctors can act quickly. Blood tests have been done to check for infection and the second drug has been delayed to give his body time to adjust. The next reduced dose of Teclistamab is planned for days 3-4.
