"In 1990s J&K Indian security forces had to fight and kill a few Afghan terrorists being sent across LoC by Pakis. Not sure how good they were but Pakis stopped sending them after a while. One main reason was that they started to rape the same Paki & Kashmiri muslim terrorists whom they were supposed to support. There were some incidents where disgruntled local Kashmiri muslim terrorists provided information against Afghans to Indian troops after a session or more of pathaani love. "IAF DRDO MoD HAL CABS (add whoever you want to blame) spent 20000 crores of Indian taxpayer money to modify Embraer jets in to AEW&C aircraft for IAF. Large scale induction was dropped for mostly the usual reasons and only X platforms are operational with IAF. This small no. was a massive waste of Indian money and efforts spanning decades. The end-user also added quite a few demands during the development which led to delays and cost overruns but that's a story for another time.
