"Its all down to the wire. Its all come down to this. An all-time great against a first-timer. One of the biggest stories of the season against a driver with a lot of promise. This is it. The Championship Decider is upon us"

"About a month ago I mentioned I had some numbers illustrating HAMs drop off - especially over a single lap - since the end of 2023. Many HAM fans have asked me about this and today Ill share the first of those"

"There is a very logical chance 2026 is Hamiltons final year in F1 and I have fully been looking at 2026 with that mindset. If he is back on form great. He will want to continue and the team will want to continue with him. If he is still out of sorts and unhappy neither party will want to continue. As at that point theres nothing left"

"I have only ever bought into one F1 conspiracy theory ever - and that is to never trust Lawrence Stroll. I would like to see Aston Martin have a dominant car because Im interested as to what happens. I truly believe the Strolls are doing everything in their power to make Lance a champion - and they will sabotage everyone and anything to achieve it. Thats already been proven in the past and it will happen again"

"Its all in platform control. Hamilton has struggled ever since teams got on top of platform control with these cars. You have to keep the car as flat as possible (pitch-wise) to generate as much downforce from the Ventrui tunnels as possible. He got away with it for a long time when the Mercedes had not optimised their platform control and could generate their laptime with a car running higher off the ground. As soon as they lost that his speed vanished. We heard it all year from Adami too so that continued ever since"

"To give a more specific example - both Bono and Adami keep telling Hamilton to have a faster brake release/to stop trailing the brakes. Driver61 also did a sim session with Racing Bulls and mentioned the same thing - the brake release required with these Venturi cars is very counter intuitive. This keeps the weight of the car rearwards and keeps the floor as level as possible as soon as possible. Hamilton has either struggled to do it or is stubborn and actively does not want to (something he implied last year in Hungary)"

"In the dry I think the cars in 2026 will be a step forward for the viewer - cant get much worse than what we saw last weekend. In the wet however I dont think the FIA really planned this thoroughly enough. Torque from the battery is not the same as power from an ICE - so controlling wheelspin and aquaplaning in the wet may turn into an absolute lottery. The cars will also have Monza-style wings at every circuit if not worse. The 2026 cars are not designed for wet weather driving at all - and this was a massive fear going into the regulation set"

"The sport will change completely. F1 as we know it (qualify well on a Saturday protect the tyres for XX% of the race manage the gaps behind DRS passes lack of strategic variation) is no more. There is not one piece of F1 from 2022-2025 - or even 2014-2021 - that will carryover next year"

"Just think about 2012 Hamilton with modern day reliability. Youd pretty much get 2018"

"As promised - the first of some numbers outlining Hamiltons qualifying decline over the course of the Ground Effect era: What this graphic shows is the live or moving median in qualifying between HAM and RUS over their time as teammates. Key details to note are: - Hamiltons last sustained peak over Russell occurred at the 2023 Brazilian GP where at that point he had been -XXXXX% faster than Russell over their time together. - From then until their final race together Russell emerged XXXXX% faster ultimately ending their time as teammates as XXXXX% faster. - Hamiltons decline from Vegas 2023"

"On second thought only X drivers in F1 history have actually changed teams after driving for one team for 10+ years. Those are: Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. For whatever reason both drivers struggled in their first season at their new teams. Schumacher after taking 3+ years out although the magnitude of the gap to Rosberg in 2010 implies hed have struggled anyway even without all his mitigating circumstances. As when they switched teams in their prime after not spending so long elsewhere they had no problems at all"
