Nothing ridiculous about examining an approach that leaves you with limited top end retention when the entire staff ethos coming in was player development. "There's many ways to skin a cat and certainly no consensus on how to do it in the Portal Era (yet due to lack of data) but with Player Development being such an emphasis you are more likely to get ROI if you have the key element: TIME. Also feel like the returning players want to be guaranteed minutes and enjoy writing letters to the fanbase thanking them for the previous year (and the RT's that come with it).
