"Simple Answer: We have a positively massive skills gap. Too Long Answer: For XX years we told young people to avoid manufacturing. We shut down our high school shop classes we shuttered the majority of our manufacturing-centric trade schools we atrophied the internal training programs inside our mid-large size manufacturing businesses (the ones that didn't close and move to China). Speaking in broad generalities the manufacturing skills that do remain are held by a rapidly attritting group of older workers and those skills have not kept up with modern manufacturing technology or techniques."

"I thought that until we got the Model Y for the wife and after a long history of BMWs and Audis (3 series an X5 an A4 and a Q5). The Model Y simply trumps all of them in unexpected and interesting ways. Even without FSD (which is frustrating because it is so close to magic but not quite there).
