"Culture is such a strong invisible force. Americans in my YT comments: your monotone voice puts me to sleep. Get a more jolly voice from ElevenLabs (Eastern) Europeans: I appreciate the slow and calm voice its refreshing to listen to Two near-opposite things are true at once. (Im judging by the commenter names here which is arguably not the most accurate)"

"@francedot No offense but it still could have been too hard for you and me. But Atlas has billions of dollars and the smarter people and AI models on earth behind it. And now a lot of distribution too. The conclusion isnt I could have built it myself"

"I'm trying out a new video format that pairs AI explainers with an industry case study. Not sponsored; I'll pick companies that are genuinely open to sharing their tech stack. The first video in the series will be about RAG with my friends from @ContinuaAI as a guest. I know that RAG is an overly-discussed topic and I'm looking for interesting angles that haven't been covered yet. Let me know your non-trivial RAG-related questions 👇"

"My computer science college professors used to look down on programming -- it's too volatile to deserve formal education (new paradigms and languages come out all the time). Instead we did all kinds of theory: types probability queuing. Back then it felt anachronistic and smug. Today it feels like solid ground in a swampy AI world. The professors were right and probably didn't even know how right they would be. Universities are not meant to optimize for a fancy X bio today but for a lifelong career. Also I can't wait for the credential arms race to be over. Universities should attract the"

"One nugget that I resonated with viscerally is about reading. For an LLM text is a source of information a data point for whats plausible in the world. But for us humans a book is a prompt for reflection. While we might also enjoy its surface level (the plot the poetry) we wont call a book good until it elicits something in us that wasnt even said. Maybe a memory or an ache or a dream. Theres some reflection learning that LLMs are not doing yet"
