@MrMSpencer "Tweaking around the edges on account settings only does so little when the FSD tech is yet to absorb liability & the upfront cost pales unfavorably vs subscription price (given average car ownership length). Imo the uncertainty is more in the air whether Al4 can deliver unsupervised or if we're needing AI5. I'd personally not get an AI4 Tesla at this point until it's demonstrated they can do it. I'm just assuming it'll need AI5-6 to manage. Why else is AI5 needing to be so much more powerful"

"Imagine if AI5 takes longer to ready / is delayed and Tesla has to sell AI4 + steering wheel based cybercab (consumer version). It'll still be fine for FSD supervised (like Model Y HW4) provided it gets retrofit capacity built-in. Imo that'll still be popular and help to get the tooling price down"
