"I'm surprised they haven't hard-forked a disablement of those wallets yet. at some point the power of those wallets is too strong to ignore and since it is supposedly a dead wallet it would make sense to do so. That being said doing that action could open up a can-of-worms: - Suddenly we dis-incentivize the accumulation of bitcoin to the detriment of the stability of the network (hmmm ok maybe a good thing). - It may spur the owner of the addresses to move the coins before the hard-fork takes effect (oops just caused a BTC bear market). I am sure there are more points to consider"

"I don't know if you understand but this is possible it can be done and doing it doesn't change Bitcoin for better or worse. After all it's the participants of the network that decide on protocol by voting which software version to run. In fact having this ability increases sovereignty since it prevents abuse by a large holder. So I don't agree with your argument although I think I understand your sentiment"
