"True but learning that craft was run a hell of a lot easier than the science based engineering school at my university. Business school covered the same simple equation for a week each in like four different classes - something equivalent would have been given less than five minutes once in one class in an engineering or science pre req class. And thats fine - but it was particularly interesting that a lot of the people around me in business school acted like they were very special people doing very difficult things (and that was hardly present at all in the break neck paced"

"Yes both of your points are definitely true. I think puffing/ projected self confidence/ whatever is definitely important to the business culture (accounting is what I did specifically) and it attracts people who are like that. My observations here are primarily on the difference in difficulty of the classes between the two fields related to the broader discussion by OP. The juxtaposition with the student behavior seems tangentially relevant and was interesting to live through. Not too many people do those two degrees at the same time. Thought Id offer my experience"

"I did a dual degree in business and civil engineering. My experience: There was an order of magnitude difference. Business classes were no study XXX level. Engineering was intense (particularly weeder pre-reqs). Plus the pretentiousness between business and engineering was insane. Business - doing very easy stuff with a puffed chest. Engineering - doing very difficult stuff humbly"

"This post was b/c of a related situation (but much much worse) outside of two of my properties (60 units of studios) the inability to do anything legal about it the extremely high property taxes and business improvement special assessment the properties are subject to and the lack of any reasonable response by all relevant public agencies for weeks with constant reporting. All during our peak leasing/turnover season (though I would care similarly at any time). Miraculously we were able to self resolve shortly after before I crashed out"
