@metaryuk "This is very misleading. Going by his analogy then Zcash is by default HTTP and a user is required to manually "convert" it to HTTPS (t-s) and if this is not done it will continue to stay as cleartext as HTTP. If you want to use this HTTP/HTTPS analogy then it's Monero that is HTTPS as the current internet protocol and application layer has HTTPS enforced by default and even if you try to remove the "S" (secure socket layer) manually from the URI on the browser the site will revert back to HTTPS. In other words SSL is somewhat enforced just like how Monero is private by default and enforced."

"actually no. my criticisms stemmed from the hypocrisy of the community who boast Zcash as a privacy coin first yet 1) There are more transparent ZEC than shielded (which technically makes Zcash transparent first privacy second) 2) they called bitcoin "HTTP" and Zcash "HTTPs" when Zcash is first HTTP and optional HTTPs.
