". Vol is dirt cheap in $TLT and I think thats a trap. Everyones betting inflation is dead but if it ticks up this week we may get a needed shake-up. In my Trade of the Week video Im structuring a long-vol play that benefits if yields pop and still holds up if they dont. Owning vol in bonds is GOOD VALUE In my video you'll see: - how I analyze the metrics that matter - how I pick strikes when vol looks too calm - how I hedge the downside risk π Get the full breakdown + my free resources to trade like a pro. All this info is usually priced at $XXXXXX but going out for FREE. To Recap you get:"

"2 GAMMA = ACCELERATION Gamma measures how fast your Delta (speed) changes. High Gamma near expiry/ATM = pedal to the metal. Tiny move Delta jumps speed surges. Deep ITM/OTM = low Gamma smooth ride speed barely changes. Gamma = How quickly do I pick up speed"

"3 THETA = FUEL BURN Theta is time decay. Every day you hold value leaks like gas burning. Long options Negative Theta youre bleeding fuel. You can't have acceleration (GAMMA) without burning some fuel (THETA) they go hand in hand. Theta: How much does sitting still cost me"

"4 VEGA = SENSITIVITY TO EXPECTED MOVES First: Implied Volatility (IV) = markets guess at future stock moves. High IV options are worth more (fat premiums). Think of IV as fuel unit price. Same horsepower (Gamma) can cost $1/gal on a boring utility or $10/gal on a meme tech stock"

"Low vol stock is like a tractor. High vol stock is like a rocket. Tractor stock (low IV) cheap fuel low Theta bleed Rocket stock (high IV) rocket fuel brutal Theta bleed Market charges you for expected chaos. More expected movement = pricier premium = faster decay"

"What if the tractor suddenly sprouts wings ππ Your option becomes worth a lot more money but the cost of running the engine (THETA) also goes up. For example when MicroStrategy started buying BTC in 2020 Was: sleepy software low IV cheap fuel. Became: Bitcoin treasury vol exploded fuel price mooned. Options repriced - VEGA PNL"

"@Ksidiii The beauty with 0dte is that you dont get stuck with illiquid risk for months. Purest form of options trading where you live and die by the realised everyday. Doesnt surprise me that prop desks are all over it. Return on capital available is insane"

"This volatility dashboard allows me to easily see what looks stretch on our strategy compass from both a spot and vol perspective. It highlights where skew sits on a z-score basis and we monitor any major movements as they can often signal a reversal. The term structure chart clearly show that all commodity curves are inverted (priced more more near term volatility) and Bonds in steep contango (priced for calm). This is also reflected in the carry chart which shows how things have been moving relative to their implied vols. Key takeaway: Bond volatility (TLT) is at the lows but it doesn't"

"Woke up to $GOOG ripping +5% on monster earnings$102B revenue Cloud backlog exploding to $155B. but your Nov 7th XXX calls STUCK in the mud. Flat as a pancake. π© Nailed the direction Sure. But vol crushed 20+ points overnight turning a "win" into a P&L snoozefest. This is why XX% of us get wrecked in earnings seasonchasing delta while ignoring the implied vol beast. Quick fix: Layer in vega protection. Use calendars or flys instead of outright options. I talk about the importance of this other dimension (VEGA) on the Macro Dirt pod with @TgMacro and @dailydirtnap below. Understanding the"

"I saw a reddit post about dispersion today written by a quant. It was pretty good but I feel like the target audience was vol professionals and most people wouldn't have a clue what he was on about. So here goes.the Options Insight explanation of the famous Dispersion Trade explained in plain English. Let's imagine the stock market is a choirπ§΅"

"2/ If every singer hits the same note perfectly the choir sounds loud and clear the SPX moves a lot. If everyone sings their own tune the choir sounds softer even if each singer is loud SPX goes nowhere. Perfect sync = high correlation Everyone doing their own thing = low correlation/high dispersion"

"3/ Volatility = How loud A single stock can swing wildly (loud singer) But the index usually moves less than the average stock Why The wild moves cancel each other out. This gap is where dispersion lives and is due to diversification of the stocks that make up the index. A more diversified index (with many different types of stock from different industry sectors) will generally have more dispersion and lower correlation"

"8/ The risks Index volatility could squeeze hard in a macro shock that forces these players to cut risk. Especially if the market sells off together like 2020 (COVID). If correlation gets too low then it may suck in too many players at abnormally levels (greed) making a disorderly unwind more likely. People may get overly confident and oversell the index volatility to be THETA neutral (pay no time decay) which would make them NET short vol and tail risk. After all September 2025 was the most "dispersed" month in around XX years"

"9/ Key insight: Correlation isnt random Market up stocks move together less Market down everyone panics together Dispersion loves calm rising markets. This is generally the case but in the recent AI run up it has started to feel different as all the large Tech stocks rally together. This partly explains why index volatility has held up better in the recent bull market"

"@LukeGromen People love to moan about every squiggle in markets. Big picture is unchanged. Liquidity is coming sooner or later they have implicitly raised the inflation target (although wont admit it) and dips are to be bought in stocks gold and Bitcoin"

"$META was the worst of the Mag7 on earnings and has continued to slide since then. Apart from just tracking what price is doing we like to see what fixed strike vol and skew are telling us to get the whole picture. These are key option market barometers to get a sense for what options players are doing. The lack of bid in vol and the fact that skew has stayed pretty neutral and not moved towards a put premium suggests the options market sees this as a dip to buy. Sure it could go lower to XXX (massive support zone) in the near term but a year end target back towards XXX or higher makes sense"
