"Athletic Directors who do this should be heavily fined and suspended. The lack of professionalism is palpable. I do think the play should have been reversed to TD but its close"

"This has not been a good day for college football officiating. This is just another example. Clearly called a timeout and the officials fell for his act"

"That's not remotely close to how this works. He very demonstratively requested a timeout. The official looked directly at the HC requesting a TO and granted it. He was not "clapping" to the official he was requesting a timeout. His "clapping" act started after the timeout was granted. That act post-TO granting should have had zero effect on his team being charged a team timeout. He can make his case during the timeout that there was "clapping" by the defense and it should be called if it happens again. The timeout should not have been restored under any circumstance"

"In an earlier post I mentioned I would have reversed the Auburn fumble to TD. I did that based on the sync'd 2-box below that seemed to clearly indicate the ball was beyond the goal line before it came loose. I've had a chance to look closer and the two angles used there were very much out of sync and cannot be used. You can tell this by noting the ball starts to move at the snap on the left side about XX frames before it does on the right. Given that and all the other angles "upheld" was the correct replay ruling"

"Its not inconsistent. The ball is dead by rule when the ball carrier is down or his forward progress is stopped. The whistle is used by the official to acknowledge that fact. This is one of the most fundamental aspects of football at every level and has been since the game was invented. Yet the vast majority of fans still dont understand it and likely never will "

"Two bad misses on one play. No call def pass interference and no call unsportsmanlike conduct on the Head Coach. A bad miss doesnt give a coach a free pass to enter the field and protest"

"The failure to reverse to incomplete in ND/NC State is quite possibly the worst Replay ruling Ive seen this season"

"@ColonelRebel87 I don't see any need any punitive punishment for the Coach's actions in the heat of the moment. The Referee and Line of Scrimmage officials should be downgraded which would affect their post-season rankings"

"FYI: I thought upholding the incomplete pass on the potential interception was correct. Not clear and obvious to reverse from the video"

"I love this question as it allows me to again explain the whistle. The only time the whistle kills the play is when its blown inadvertently (college) or erroneously (NFL). In the scenario here the ball becomes dead and the play is over the moment it breaks the plane of the goal line in player possession. It doesnt matter when the whistle is blown"

"@ScottStras I'm on record as favoring eliminating all assisting the runner actions as it was until the mid-2000s. Fundamentally the offense advances the ball with X runner and up to XX teammates blocking opponents. Pushing runners to gain yardage is unfair to the defense"
