"@Deebeegeek26 E33s art direction is nice but its incredibly derivative and lacks conhesion and clarity where it matters. Silksong and Hades X follow up and refine their spectacular prequels which will define and inform the art direction for indie games for decades. Theres no comparison"

"Personal taste is subjective. Art direction isnt. Hades X and Silksong utilize color harmony value contrast (esp Hades) visual hierarchy and more among BGs gameplay & UI in ways that enforce clarity tone cohesion and player comprehension. This is executed to near perfection. You can prefer E33 visually but preference isnt the same thing as how effectively the art direction does its job"

"Your preference for E33 is fair and subjective as you said. Art direction though is about clarity hierarchy composition readability and more its not about personal taste. In regards to these principles Hades & Silksong are more effective (more disciplined consistent refined and excellent)"
