"Im neither an evangelist nor prophet and I didnt offer you free heat. I quite plainly stated that the cost of heating propane can be replaced by an electrical resistant heater that generates bitcoin. I also said you can sell it. Its a purely utilitarian transaction and many (including myself) do this"

"@shagbark_hick If you already have solar you can get free heat if youre using propane the heat is not free but it replaces the often very expensive propane by subsidizing itself"

"@shagbark_hick Heres an article I wrote on the subject a couple of years ago. No evangelizing or proselytizing just a how to and why guide"

"@HohlyMohly @shagbark_hick Its a good question I use bitcoin miner heat as a buddy system on my main HVAC. It operates at only 900W so any EMF is relatively low and relegated to my laundry room where the unit lives"

"@HohlyMohly @shagbark_hick Price wise this unit is quite expensive but beautiful. Here is a far cheaper version that takes some building:"

"@Marshals_RRABL @shagbark_hick My read is that you still need to pay for the electricity. I dont want to give someone the impression that mining bitcoin for heat is too good to be true"

"Many many many people who have X interest or an active dislike for bitcoin still adopt it for its utility via bitcoin mining. A heater that subsidizes itself (and is designed in a way that you never have to touch bitcoin) is an easy sell. A tool that consumes your extra solar hydro or gas is the same. You dont have to like it if its useful to you"

"Hickman. This may sound insane to you but you can purchase a bitcoin miner and use it as an electric resistive heater and eliminate your propane bill while subsidizing your electrical cost. Sell the bitcoin you mine every month and you can recover the cost to operate the machine at 900W. I personally do this and hes my house with excess solar from panels on my roof at X cost. Happy to share more if interested"
