"How XX BYU CHANGED College Football (and why the CFP hates them still). Its 1996 and BYU just won the WAC Title game over XX win (and #20 final ranked) Wyoming. They became the 1st Div I college football team to play XX games in a scheduled regular season. They are 13-1 and ranked #5 heading into the bowl season. All projections are for them to make the Fiesta Bowl with LaVell Edwards being flown out for the selection ceremony. However BYU gets shafted by the Bowl Alliance and is put into the Cotton Bowl to play against KSU. BYU would win the game 19-15 to cap off a 14-1 season. BYU files a"

"@eagle88me I hope it works out for yall. This is a private equity firm which is ROI not basic donors. They will be looking for a profit and aggressively. Be cautious what yall ask for"

"To any Ute fan No one is panicking about your private equity deal. It is concerning that your University is going this route. EVERYONE in CFP is paying attention. You may think its a superb deal getting $XXX mil TIL they start wanting their money back. Theyre expecting a HUGE return that is equal to or doubled. If it doesnt work out then the whole thing collapses for you. Goodbye all your other athletics teams when you have to cut costs. They WILL demand their money back unlike the typical donor. I hope it works out BUT sometimes it doesnt work out. It depends on lots of factors. Good luck"

"Ute fans are trying to be too positive and think its gonna go well. Dealing with private equity firms doesnt usually work out. Just look at Sears K Mart Toys R Us etc. They care about money and sucking you dry. BYU is doing it the right way by not doing anything that incurs debt. Plus theyve got vast amounts of wealthy alums. Very cautious and hope it works but it usually doesnt. Well see"

"The issue is their thinking its a free check when PE firms arent. They WILL want a ROI and it better be close to or better from what they donated. PEs care about their money and are vultures. Sears Kohls Toys R Us etc all tried it and see how they worked out. Getting a P usually is a sign that a business aint doing well. The U is apparently in the red the last few years. If it doesnt work expect shutting down other athletic programs to pay off the debt. Hope in XX years to not see a headline that says the U is closing its doors"

"Once again Ps arent your regular donors. They WILL demand a ROI thats equal to or at a higher rate. Theyre like vultures and care about their pockets being filled. Look how it turned out for Sears Toys R Us etc. I hope it works out but if not then expect to shut down other athletic programs. Expect a huge bailout from the Utah Legislature. Yall have been in the red for years so taking on this is a HUGE gamble"
