"๐Ÿšจ Yesterday (11-5) in silver Yesterday silver spot treaded water around $XX throughout the day. Let's investigate what played out below the surface. COMEX COMEX silver stock report for Tuesday (COMEX reports activity for the previous working day) says a total 907K ozt (28.2 metric tons) was withdrawn while 1K ozt (ie. one bar) was deposited. This withdrawn amount is comparable to yesterday's outflow. The Delaware vault staff was probably annoyed as they had to store one LGD bar (1069 ozt received) and remove two other LGD bars (1903 ozt withdrawn). I wonder if they bothered with the"

"Gold and silver both up slightly from yesterday's close in overnight trading in China. Silver maintains a premium and gold establishes a premium to LBMA spot. The slight backwardation that was evident yesterday with SFE silver (futures) trading below SGE silver (spot) has corrected. The SFE silver vault sees a large inflow"

"As I understand it - and I admit I'm no expert on COMEX mechanics - categorizing metal in registered costs owners more money in storage fees and such than holding it in the eligible category so there is a financial incentive to move metal that is being sold from eligible to registered with just in time scheduling to minimize fees"

"China is already closing the door on silver exports to the West via government control regardless of trading premiums/discounts. The door is currently open for silver to flow into China however and that may be a target for the critical material designation. And if direct export controls are not employed the USA (COMEX) and UK (LBMA) will need to raise (and maintain) the price of silver above China's SFE/SGE markets to prevent any flow of silver from the West to China"

"I'm not Eric but the LBMA's OTC (Over The Counter) spot market isn't conducted from a centralized computer platform. It's LBMA members doing private deals. It's a centuries old method of doing business and that's why I call them dinosaurs. They are yet to join the modern computerized age"

"@Dioclet54046121 I have no idea what Bai is trying to say about negative premiums using a RMB/USD exchange rate from April. SGE silver is and has been trading at a premium to LBMA for about two weeks now (I'd have to check my notes for the exact time period)"

"Silver is up and gold is down from yesterday's close in overnight trading China. Silver maintains a premium and gold is at a slight discount to LBMA spot (as of the SGE market close). The SFE silver vault reports another (large) inflow yesterday while the SGE silver vault reports a small outflow for last week. I'm guessing the SGE will start to show inflows going forward if the SGE maintains a premium to LBMA spot"

"Gold and silver are both down from yesterday's close in overnight trading in China. Silver remains at a premium and gold is more or less at par with LBMA spot. The SFE silver vault reports another large inflow. I'm guessing next week the SGE will also report an inflow for this week"

"That's a ceiling assuming the several variables remain static (and assuming the LBMA reported number is correct which I do not believe is the case): 1) rate of industrial consumption does not increase (or decrease) 2) rate of investment demand does not increase (it doesn't have a lot of room to decrease) 3) China continues to export silver and participate in global vault flows 4) USA continues to export silver and participate in global vault flows 5) Actors owning promissory claims to metal in the LBMA system that continue to roll over/trade claims instead of demand delivery continue to play"

"๐Ÿšจ The dinosaurs at the LBMA finally published their monthly gold and silver vault stock totals for the month of November. If these numbers are to be believed (and I do not believe the LBMA number) the West has roughly 16937 metric tons vaulted at LBMA + COMEX not owned by ETFs. That's a decrease of XXX metric tons over last month's report which might seem reasonable except for the India issue: ๐Ÿ‘‰The LBMA likely overstated last month's vault stock number by at least XXX metric tons given Indian import data for October (see below for details) ๐Ÿ‘‰India surely was buying more silver in the month"

"๐Ÿšจ Yesterday (12-8) in silver Yesterday silver spot tread water around $XX. Let's look below the surface. COMEX The COMEX silver stock report for Friday (COMEX reports activity for the previous working day) shows 1.2M ozt (38.3 metric tons) withdrawn primarily from JPM (911K ozt) and CNT (321K ozt). There was also 305K ozt (9.5 metric tons) deposited in Loomis for the second day in a row. It is odd to see the Asahi vault so quiet in the last few days after being so busy while the COMEX was reportedly sending lots of silver to London. Maybe they are done sending London what is left of their"
