"Paxos mints $300 TRILLION PYUSD on Ethereum Mainnet by mistake. That is crazy. People have to realize how sensitive those operations are and that issuers need a ton of guardrails to prevent not just hacks but also fat-fingering issues"

"@StaniKulechov @aave Honestly scary for USDT holders to know that USDe is hardcoded to 1:1 USDT in Aave v3 when that should not be the case. I don't even understand how the protocol is not enforcing pricing oracles and preventing hardcoded values"

"I'm not sure how I can reconcile CT saying that the USDe depeg / price dislocation was local to a single-venue (Binance) when there were a bunch of markets that had it far from $X against USDT/USDC. Seems like it wasn't just Binance"

"Coinbase recently released their Smart Wallet and is I think the best self-custodial embedded wallet solution out there 🔑 Here is how it works. (1) Upon sign up the user will be prompted for biometrics and a passkey will be created. (2) Coinbase then deploys a smart contract that pins (hardcodes) that passkey's public key as the authorized key for transactions. (3) When the user wants to transact the dApp will create a transaction and prompt the user for its biometrics. (4) The biometrics will decrypt the passkey from the iCloud Keychain which is shared across devices. (5) Upon decryption"

"first and foremost USDe literally got saved by the fact that there's a hardcoded 1:1 oracle value with USDT on Aave to prevent liquidations pushing all the risk to USDT holders - USDT holders basically subsidize Ethena model's risks second it's all about trust in the ability to serve ALL redemptions in the case of a bank run (not the actual served redemptions which represent a subset and won't stress test the actual full collateralization) just like USDC depegging below $XXXX across most markets during the SVB bankruptcy despite SVB holding far less than XX% of the reserves at the time the"

"@Hard_Fork_Bill I'll buy your discounted USDC all day long. Synthetic dollars are not stablecoins"

"USDe just depegged all the way down to $XXXX vs USDT and $XXXX vs USDC during today's crash. And it's still sitting at $XXXX against USDC. The reality is that you just can't use synthetic dollars as payment assets nor as collateral for a payment asset (by wrapping it). It's not a flaw from Ethena or other players but just a structural issue due to the lack of atomicity between the spot and the short position. Imagine settling a multi-billion dollar trade with an asset that can fluctuate anywhere from X% to 38%. Crazy"
