(As a former CDL-B driver(like the dumptruck driver) a college physics major and forty years engineering experience.) The truck driver caused this accident. Alec's car was too close approaching for him to have pulled out onto the street like that. (In most states that right turn required a full stop which the truck did not do.) Either the truck driver did not see Alec or he was in a hurry and did not want to wait for Alec to pass by. But having pulled out in front of Alec the truck driver committed"
