"Yes stupid exactly- the abuses. President Trump has been consistent on this from 2016 up until now Trump has always said H-1B is unfair to Americans. Hes always said it needs to be fixed- reformed to work as it was originally intended- to fill a gap. He never said the program itself needs to be eliminated - but the way it was being used needs to end. Which is exactly what hes doing. In September 2025 Trump signed an executive order imposing a $100000 fee on new H-1B petitions (not renewals or status changes) explicitly to "curb overuse" by low-wage abusers while exempting high-skill roles."
